Ensuring safety in mines

Since 1982, the Finstergrund mine in the Black Forest, which is run by the volunteer miners' association Finstergrund Wieden e.V., has opened its doors to visitors. In order to ensure their continued safety, we backfilled cavities created by landslides there in January 2021 in cooperation with DSI Underground GmbH using our WIWA DUOMIX INJECT 2K 230. In total, almost 7.6 tons of Mine Fill LF, a 4:1 phenolic foam with an expansion factor of 75, were injected. In addition, we were able to successfully test a (at that time) new injection device in the course of this action!
